The Stroller, The Stroll and the Rain

My husband and I bought a new stroller for Yna since what she have was a hand me down from her cousin-my husband's nephew. We thought of buying her a new one so we could bring it to the mall or anywhere. Not that we're not thankful for my husband's sister's thoughtfulness, just a thought that since she was our first born, might as well buy something new for her aside from the clothes (",)  It's not that expensive. It's the only stroller we have seen that can be collapsed the smallest. Others are still big when collapsed. I like the color although it was not my first color of choice, brown with beige checkered. We just bought a mattress to cover the seat of the stroller, pink and white with a touch of pink and with an embroidery that says "princess."

We really planned to have this day our stroll day, we were supposed to go to the nearest park after visiting a micro surgeon in a hospital just few steps away from the park (well that's another story).

We were so excited for that day because we thought, aside from malling, this would be a good start for Yna to enjoy nature. A bay was just beside an ocean park and she would have been able to see the National Hero's monument and other statues.  We planned of eating on a seaside restaurant and walking on a platform constructed about the bay. But all these has gone with the rain that poured so hard while we we're still on our way to the hospital. Ouch!

So we end up malling, no choice 'coz the rain was so hard. We just said that we'll plan another stroll to the park next time.

My Baby's First Birthday Preparation Part 1

Yeah, this is part one of my baby's first birthday preparation since it would be held next year, the 28th of June. I have read couple of blogs and forums regarding preparation how to's and the things that needs to be considered. Now let me go ahead and try to break it down...

First Things First:
1. Number of Guests
2. Budget
3. Venue
4. Date & Time
5. Suppliers (cake, catering etc.)
6. Invitation
7. Tarpaulin
8. Decor for the Venue
9. Games (for both kids and adult)

So these are the details that I have to consider, other secondary details can wait. My husband and I has already checked some cake and catering supplier's websites. All we need to do then is to have a food tasting with the caterer and check their dishes.

My Baby At Month 4

Yna is now at month four. I am so amazed at how she grew up so fast that I think 24 hours is not enough. She more interactive now that I just can't get enough! So at this time she can already:
  • giggle
  • crawl a little bit (like a caterpillar)
  • show great interest in colorful books that's why I don't get tired reading to her
  • feel boredom whenever there are no one around (or if she can't just see us)
  • completely hold her feeding bottle with very minimal supervision,I can even do the laundry
  • show interest on her toys and keeps on playing with her mobile
She wakes up earlier than us so it means that she's our alarm clock every morning. She's too active and playful. It makes my day whenever she stares at me, look around upon hearing my voice and show great appreciation on my face, well, I'm her mother so what can you say?

    I Have New Friends

Do you know these guys? Well as for me, I do now. We now let our daughter watch dvds like Brainy Babies, Rhymes, Barney and those that sing the alphabet song. If we see her bored already with the dvds, we will turn on the television on Nickolodeon channel so she could watch couple of good episodes from Dora, Ni Hao Kai Lan, The Backyardigans, Yo Gabba Gabba and Team Umizoomi. But Before I let her watch those, I made some research about them. Just like choosing the right food and making sure that our kids are eating nutritious foods, I don't take chances on what she would watch.

Dora (the explorer) is a bi-lingual pre-school show which features the adventures of Dora with her monkey, Boot and her backpack. And along the way to their travel they will meet friends who sing songs with them. Each day they have to defeat a villain fox, Swipper from being a hindrance on their quest. This I think was a good show because Dora is directly talking to the viewers and by that, the kids would like to follow her instructions like if she will ask "Do you see a rainbow?" then the kinds will point on the rainbow, or  "Say jump" and the kids will jump to help Dora reach her  goal. And of course the show will always end with it's theme song "We did it."

Ni Hao Kai Lan I think is the Chinese version of Dora. And by the way, Ni Hao Kai Lan means 'hello' in Chinese.

The Backyardigans on the other hand is a show with five little animals who turns their backyard into an adventure place by with imagination.

The Team Umizoomi is a show which has incorporated the concept of math such as shapes, problem-solving story and patterns. If there's a friend in trouble (has lost a toy or if there's a situation that needs assistance), they will talk to him/her on Bot's belly, Geo can build anything using shapes and Milli can make patterns through her dress. It teaches Math concept and at the same time cooperation.

The Yo Gabba Gabba is a techno beat show that focuses on sharing, caring and loving that sing and dance. They actually have guests like they had Elijah Wood, some bands and other know actors to sing and dance with them. At first I don't really understand they but after watching them for three days, I get used of their costumes, their songs and why at night they turn into stuffed toys and being kept by the man that wears an orange suit.

So that’s it, can be a smart choice for moms like me huh?
